The Benefits of a Coffee Scrub on Cellulite
We hate to break it to you, but it’s not always peaches and cream when it comes to keeping our skin looking beautiful. That’s why some women go to great lengths to enhance what their mamas gave 'em. In this case, it’s trying to get rid of cellulite.
As women, many of us store weight in our thighs, and while lasting solutions for zapping cellulite in this area can be costly, our coffee cellulite scrubs are not.
Coffee scrubs made using coffee grounds may lessen the appearance of cellulite. How does this work?
Scrubbing using a circular motion helps to stimulate circulation. Caffeine also temporarily tightens the skin, making it look a little smoother.
“Ok, ok! I am going to jump on the bandwagon of coffee scrubs currently all over the internet. I recently purchased a coffee scrub from The Coffee Scrub and really loved the results. The texture of the product and the way it left my skin feeling smooth was kinda awesome. The added blood flow from a circular motion of scrubbing seems to help. Plus the scrubbing and oils will definitely cause the skin to become soft and supple; what do we have to lose?!”

So...Do Coffee Scrubs Really Work for Cellulite?
Let’s start by understanding what exactly cellulite is. Also known as lipodystrophy, cellulite affects the way the fat under your skin is shaped, making it look lumpy or dimply on the surface. The amount of cellulite you have depends on factors such as genetics, hormones, and exercise. In fact, the underlying cause behind cellulite can be rather complex, with reasons for it including:
- Water retention
- Poor microcirculation
- Inflammation
- Overproduction of collagen
- Fat storage
So how is caffeine a solution?
- Blood Flow: Some people actually use coffee body scrubs to fight the occurrence of varicose veins in the same way some use caffeine to increase blood flow and possibly reduce the appearance of cellulite.
It doesn’t stop there, the very act of applying the coffee scrub can help similar types of skin issues. - Antioxidants: The main chemical in coffee, caffeine, as a natural antioxidant has many benefits, including heart disease- and cancer-fighting properties.
But when it specifically comes to your skin, antioxidants also neutralize the effects of free radicals (age spots and wrinkles), which can damage the inner layer of skin.
So regular use of coffee scrub allows the skin to absorb this antioxidant and can even help prevent premature aging. - Skin Texture: Caffeine is a vasodilator meaning it constricts blood vessels in the skin. This action works to make blood vessels tighter and firmer at a higher rate, which makes your skin much smoother.
When it comes specifically to cellulite, caffeine stimulates fat cells to break down fat, thus preventing it from accumulating in fat cells as well.
The antioxidant content of caffeine also makes your skin clean and smooth.
While coffee scrubs may not show any obvious effects they will reduce the appearance of cellulite.
“Can't live without. This is hands down the best scrub. After ONE use I could tell a difference. I have extremely dry skin and stretch marks(thanks to motherhood💕). The first time I used it only on my marks and it has been a life changer. Next, I used it on my face and it made me feel so much more confident in my skin. This will forever be in my skin routine now.💕❤”

Now, let's take a deeper look at what the science says about coffee for cellulite.
A coffee scrub works its magic on cellulite in various ways.
First, caffeine in the coffee dilates blood vessels beneath the skin. These stimulating effects may tighten your skin by boosting the blood flow and diminishing the excess water.
Secondly, coffee’s rich antioxidants include phenols — plant-based chemicals — that fight free radicals.
...And don’t get us started on coffee’s natural exfoliating properties. Chlorogenic acids found in coffee clear away clogged pores and reduce inflammation on your skin leaving it smooth to the touch.
Again, while exfoliation itself may not get rid of cellulite, the effects of caffeine might reduce the appearance. In fact, some of our customers share glowing reviews on the impact of cellulite treatment using caffeine and our other ingredients like:
- Grapeseed oil
- Olive Oil
- Almond Oil
- Vitamin E
- Vanilla Extract
“At first I did not know how to use it until I really used it and felt how soft my skin was and I love it!! My Stretch marks are slowly fading but I can see the results ... I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is thinking about buying :)”
